The lawyers of the firm are members of the Paris Bar. Beyond the provisions of Law no. 71-1130 of 31 December 1971 and of Decree no. 91-1197 of 27 November 1991, they are bound by the National Rules of the profession of avocat and by the Internal Rules of the Paris Bar.

No lawyer of the firm holds himself out as the holder of a certificate of specialisation save where his profile expressly states otherwise. This site constitutes professional communication within the meaning of Decree no. 2014-1251 of 28 October 2014 on the means of communication of lawyers.

In accordance with article 205 of Decree no. 91-1197 of 27 November 1991, the firm carries professional indemnity insurance together with a guarantee for the representation of client funds.

The Paris Bar further subscribes, for all of its members, a collective professional indemnity policy.

In accordance with articles L. 612-1 and following of the French Consumer Code, a consumer client may refer a dispute concerning fees or the performance of the engagement, free of charge, to the consumer mediator of the profession of avocat, with a view to an amicable resolution.

Recourse to the mediator does not deprive the client of the right to refer a fee dispute to the President of the Bar, under articles 174 and following of Decree no. 91-1197 of 27 November 1991.

No connection data is retained by the firm beyond what is necessary to the security of the service.

All elements of the site, its texts, photographs, logotype and graphic composition, are protected by copyright and, as regards the logotype, by trade mark law. Any reproduction or representation, in whole or in part, without prior written authorisation is prohibited.

The lawyers’ portraits were commissioned by the firm and may not be used for any other purpose. The typefaces employed, Playfair Display and Inter, are distributed under the SIL Open Font License 1.1.

The data controller is CAHN WILSON, at the address of its registered office. The data collected through the contact form, namely the name, the capacity or organisation, the email address, the telephone number and the message, serve only to answer the request addressed to the firm.

The legal basis of the processing is the legitimate interest of the firm in answering the enquiries made to it, within the meaning of article 6(1)(f) of Regulation (EU) 2016/679. The data are neither sold, nor rented, nor passed on for commercial purposes.

The data are retained only for the time necessary to deal with the request. Where no further step follows it, they are erased.

Messages are routed through a technical sending provider. The resulting transfer of data outside the European Union is governed by the European Commission’s standard contractual clauses.

Every person has a right of access, rectification, erasure, restriction and objection, as well as a right to the portability of his data. Those rights are exercised by email to contact@cahnwilson.com or by post to the registered office. A complaint may be brought before the French data protection authority, Commission nationale de l’informatique et des libertés, 3, place de Fontenoy, TSA 80715, 75334 Paris Cedex 07.

Exchanges with the firm, including those preceding any engagement, are covered by the professional secrecy of the avocat.

The site sets no tracker, no analytics cookie and no advertising cookie. It calls no script and no typeface hosted by a third party, so that no connection address is transmitted outside the European Union by the mere act of consulting it.

No consent is therefore required under article 82 of Law no. 78-17 of 6 January 1978.

The site is composed so as to remain legible without script, at the usual screen formats, and it respects the system setting for reduced motion. Any difficulty of access may be reported to contact@cahnwilson.com.
